Can the ordinance which sets the salary for governing body members contain a cost-of-living adjustment?

No. Section 66.0507 of the Wisconsin statutes allows a governing body to adopt a salary schedule for officers and employees other than members of a city council or village board which contains an automatic adjustment for fluctuations in the cost of living. (reviewed 1/28/14)
