An Ordinance Changing Good Friday Holiday to a Floating Holiday

The Common Council of the City of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, does hereby ordain as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 2-6-40(a)(1) of the Code of Ordinance of the City of Cedarburg is hereby amended as follows:

"(a)(l) The following days shall be paid holidays for full time employees:

New Year's Eve Day
New Year's Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve Day
Christmas Day
Good Friday

SECTION 2. Section 2-6-40(c)(1)of said Code is hereby amended as follows:

"(c) (1) All full-time employees after six (6) months of employment shall be granted one (1) two (2) floating holidays with pay, such days to be taken off at a time mutually agreed upon between the employee and the department head.

(2) New personnel classified regular full-time, who begin employment with the City prior to, July 1 of the year, shall be entitled to use one two floating holidays.

New full-time personnel, who begin employment with the City on July 1 and after, up until October 1, shall be entitled to use one-half of a one floating holiday (4 hours 8 hours). New full-time personnel who begin employment on October 1 and after shall not be entitled to any floating holidays for that calendar year."

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect on January 1, 1998.
