Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal for the League's 119th Annual Conference, October 18-20, 2017 at the Radisson Paper Valley in Appleton.  While you may submit a proposal on the topic of your choice, our membership has requested the following topics, and we are actively seeking speakers to address them:

Private Sector Collaboration
Open Meetings Laws
Housing fairness/Affordable Housing/Aging Housing Stock
Healthy Communities/Blue Zones/Green Tier Communities
Conflict resolution among officials, within communities
Attracting housing developers
Ethics
Budgeting
Levy Limits
Lead water service replacement options
Creating a Complete Streets Ordinance
Street Trees
Effective Public Information Meetings for Municipal Projects
Workforce attraction
Shared ownership of buildings and facilities

This year we are varying our workshop format, matching topics to the most appropriate form of presentation.  Please submit your proposal as though you will be a single presenter or single-source team, but know that we may ask you to consider presenting some of your most relevant material as part of a panel or multi-presenter presentation on a common theme .

Proposals must be received by March 31, 2017, to be considered for the October 2017 Annual Conference.  Proposals will be reviewed by multiple committees to determine what topics best serve our members' requests and what format presentations should take.  Speakers will be confirmed by May 31, 2017.

We appreciate your interest in presenting at the League's 119th Annual Conference, but please note that speakers are not compensated or reimbursed for expenses.  We will publicize your participation in our workshops through FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn, our website, the Municipality magazine and the conference program.  We may use your picture, if publicly available, or your company's logo.

If you have questions about your workshop speaker submission, please contact us at League@lwm-info.org.

We have additional opportunities to have your company stand out at the conference. If you are not already a League sponsor, exhibitor or advertiser, please contact Gail Sumi at gsumi@lwm-info.org.  The League offers magazine and directory advertising that will put your information into the hands of nearly 10,000 municipal officials and staff.  Our conference exhibit hall offers a one-day interaction with decision makers from municipalities throughout the state.
