New contract to help government agencies facilitate clear and concise communication
The Government Purchasing Alliance many of you are familiar with, U.S. Communities has awarded Language Select a multi-year contract to provide interpretation and translation services and related services and solutions. To learn more about how you can access this service, register for a complimentary one-hour webinar.  Webinars are scheduled for April 5 and April 7. The webinar will be archived if you can’t participate on those dates.   
 
LGI to Examine Future of Local Government
The Local Government Institute of Wisconsin which includes the League announced it was starting a 9 month study of the likely scenarios that could play out for local governments over the next 20 years. Stay tuned for Survey Opportunities and a full-day workshop on June 19th, 2016 in Stevens Point.

**FYI Producer Led Watershed Protection Grants – Proposals due April 1st**
This is a new DATCP program designed to encourage farmer-led conservation projects to improve soil and water quality.  The maximum grant award for each producer led group will be $20,000. A webinar will be held to discuss details and requirements of the proposal and budget on Wednesday, March 16th from 11am to noon. **Nominate Your Favorite Retail District for “Main Street Contest” by April 24**
The idea is simple — consumers and small business owners pick a primary retail street in the U.S. that needs a boost (revitalization, if you will) by nominating their favorite local Main Street at MainStreetContest.com. Sponsors will then invest cash certificates, social media recognition and a slew of other prizes to celebrate the energy, drive and passion of that Main Street and help it continue to thrive. The winning Main Street will receive $25,000 in cash for revitalization.
