The League of Wisconsin Municipalities Welcomes New Board Member Press Release May 10, 2023 (PDF)

The League of Wisconsin Municipalities welcomes Thomas Weatherston as the newest member of the League board. 

Weatherston is the current Village President of Caledonia. He has served on the Caledonia Village Board from 2010 to 2014 and currently since 2019. He also served as Wisconsin State Representative of the 62nd district from 2013 to 2019.

Weatherston graduated from the United States Air Force Civil Engineering school, the United States Air Force Jungle Survival school, the United States Air Force Combat Engineering Training school. He received his AAS in Construction Management from Erie Community College, and his BS in Industrial Engineering from Buffalo State. 

Prior to his tenure with the Village, Weatherston worked in Housing Maintenance at the K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base, the Civil Engineering Operational Control Center at the Clark Air Force Base, 554 Red Horse Civil Engineering Squadron at Danang Air Force Base, Vietnam. He is a retired Facilities Manager for Modine Manufacturing Company and a motorcycle safety instructor at Gateway Technical College and Harley Davidson.

Weatherston has had many committee assignments at State level including Chair of aging and long-term health care, Vice chair Workforce Development, Energy and Utilities, Financial Institutions, Transportation, Urban Revitalization, and Veterans and Military Affairs. 

As a 46-year resident of Caledonia, Weatherston has enjoyed giving back to his community as a founder of AMVETS Post 262, a Vice President of the Racine Area Veterans Honor Guard, a Service Officer of the VFW post 10301, and a Member VVA 767. He is married with two adult sons. 

“President Weatherston’s diverse background--spanning the military, private sector, local and state government--will provide a tremendously helpful perspective to the League board,” said Jerry Deschane, League Executive Director.

“I have enjoyed working with the League over the years,” said Weatherston. “I look forward to my new role and hope my contribution will benefit more communities in Wisconsin.”
